Water Jet Ingress Protection Testing System

Sensotech Instruments Inc. manufactures a high-performance IPX5 & IPX6 Water Jet Test Apparatus designed for evaluating the waterproof protection of electrical and electronic products according to IEC 60529 ingress protection standards. The system is specially developed for conducting IPX5 water jet testing and IPX6 powerful water jet testing under controlled testing conditions. During the IPX5 test, the specimen is exposed to water jets through a 6.3 mm nozzle, while the IPX6 test uses a 12.5 mm nozzle for high-pressure powerful water jet testing. The apparatus is designed as a floor-standing automatic testing unit equipped with PLC-based control and touch screen HMI operation for accurate and user-friendly testing. The equipment features high-pressure water circulation, adjustable water pressure, digital flow monitoring, stainless steel construction, programmable test timing, and a motorized rotating turntable for complete multi-directional water jet exposure. Advanced models are available with automatic jet control, water filtration systems, variable speed rotation, and programmable testing cycles for enhanced testing performance. Integrated Design and Construction

Sensotech Instruments Inc. manufactures box-type waterproof testing equipment featuring an integrated one-piece testing system constructed from premium 304 stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance and long service life. 304 stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance and long service life.

At the base of the system, a motorized rotating turntable securely holds the specimen and rotates automatically to ensure uniform exposure to water jets from all directions. The unit can also be equipped with an optional waterproof power socket for “power-on” testing applications.

Inner Chamber

IPX5 & IPX6 Nozzle

A precision-engineered spray port is positioned on the side of the chamber and connected to a water circulation system for direct jet spray testing on the specimen. To improve efficiency and sustainability, the chamber includes a water collection tank with filtration and closed-loop water recycling system for continuous testing operation.

The water jet is delivered through precision-engineered nozzles manufactured from high-grade metal for accurate and reliable waterproof testing.

To meet different ingress protection testing requirements, the equipment is supplied with multiple nozzle configurations.

  • 6.3 mm Diameter Nozzle: Designed for IPX5 water jet testing.
  • 12.5 mm Diameter Nozzle: Designed for high-flow IPX6 powerful water jet testing.

Users can quickly switch between nozzles according to testing requirements. The equipment also supports fixed nozzle positioning or automatic oscillating movement to ensure complete water spray coverage from all required directions.

Advanced PLC Control and Intuitive HMI

For smooth and efficient operation, the system is equipped with a 7-inch PLC-based touch screen interface for easy parameter setting and monitoring.

The user-friendly HMI allows operators to select the required IP rating, testing duration, water flow parameters, and test sequence directly from the screen.

Once initiated, the apparatus performs the programmed test cycle automatically while displaying real-time testing data, operational status, and safety alerts for reliable and unattended operation.
